My mom had a total knee replacement 2 months ago. She has been on 8mg of coumadin daily. Her INR yesterday was 3.4. She had a severe sprang in her other knee 2 weeks ago and know that leg is black and blue from the knee to her foot with swelling. Doctor stated, "Lets just take you off the coumadin and see how you do." She is Factor V Liden Heterozygous and this is her 1st experience with coumadin. Any suggestions???
